Scientists have demonstrated that every time we remember anything, the neuronal structure of memory is delicately transformed, so the very act of remembering changes our memories. Moreover, as Jonah Lehrer states, "Although our memories always feel true, they're extremely vulnerable to errant suggestions, clever manipulations and the old fashioned needs of storytelling". In this light, autofictions suggest a more honest perspective on the autobiography and certainly encourage and provides more freedom for me to create the artist books.
