Bedtime Stories is a series of crib-sized printed paper quilts, scrolls, wearable art and an artist book of nursery rhymes. Quilting and the small print format answered symbolic and economic issues because, as a mother raising my child full-time while working many part-time jobs, time and money was obviously scarce. Given a small pocket of time, I could manage to gather scrapes of material, sew a patch, or layout a pattern, just as women for generations have done before me. Like them, this series was rooted in my home life where I still needed an outlet for my artistic and aesthetic longings as I worried, wondered and watched my daughter grow.
